Just to record the fact that one of the HDD was changed by Hamish on 06May21. The defective HDD was retained by him for possible analysis.

Thanks for making this post, I had forgotten to provide an update on the forum.

The new drive has successfully resynced itself, and I am currently analysing the old one to see if it can be fixed.

It seems I have successfully repaired the old HDD, so I will drop it back off the next time I'm at WMT and it can become the new spare.

Old HDD is now back at WMT. Good enough for a spare, but if another drive dies we might not want to depend on it forever, so would probably still eventually require another new drive.
