Requirements Elicitation starting 8/12/2020
Re: Requirements Elicitation starting 8/12/2020
14:30 on Tuesday the 19th with Jitsi or Teams is OK for me.
Re: Requirements Elicitation starting 8/12/2020
NB: Meeting will be on Jitsi at https://meet.jit.si/WMTProjectsMeetingRoom as before.
Penri, can you do Tuesday 19th (tomorrow) at 14:30?

Re: Requirements Elicitation starting 8/12/2020
Penri has told me he's okay to join this afternoon.
The original requirements document for the desktop Visitor GUI can be found here: https://wmtprojectsforum.altervista.org ... ss_1.0.odt
I'm hoping to make it a fair way through this document and simultaneously edit it/author a new requirements document as needed.
I'll need to record this meeting as well, just in case I didn't say.

Re: Requirements Elicitation starting 8/12/2020
Thank you all for your time today.
I have attached the notes I took during the meeting, and my halfway-modified requirements document. Please note I forgot to turn Track Changes on at the very beginning so some changes at the start of the document aren't highlighted.
I shall post here again soon once I have finished editing the document so it can be reviewed.

Re: Requirements Elicitation starting 8/12/2020
Hamish,
I've reviewed what you've done to the Requirements and believe the changes reflect our discussion. I have one minor comment about your Notes. In the line that says 'Flask modules may be useful (Gingr, Blowfish)', the flask module is actually called Jinja not Gingr and it's actually a part of flask. Other useful modules might be flask_moment, flask_wtf and flask_sqlalchemy. Fairly obviously the latter allows access to a database, which you will need.
None of the above is meant to imply a requirement, but I thought they might help.

Re: Requirements Elicitation starting 8/12/2020
Apologies for the delay. I shall get this sorted very soon.
Do we want a design requirements document as well? I have a tendency to get slightly mixed up between functional requirements, constraints, and design requirements.

Re: Requirements Elicitation starting 8/12/2020
I have drafted the new requirements document based on our discussions, and the advice from my supervisor.
The new document can be found at: https://wmtprojectsforum.altervista.org ... ss_1.1.odt, and is also attached to this post.
Please review and let me know if I need to make any more changes. Track Changes was on, so you can see exactly what I've changed since the last iteration.

Hamish,
This all seems pretty sensible to me. Just a few points:
This all seems pretty sensible to me. Just a few points:
- I think that the term 'server' should be added to the Definitions Section. On at least one occasion I was uncertain as to whether the document was referring to the Webserver or the NAS Box Database Server.
- In a few places you have used the pronoun 'we', which is not normal for a formal engineering document.
- In a number of places there are gash line-feeds left behind after changes have been accepted.

Re: Requirements Elicitation starting 8/12/2020
Thanks Terry.
I have added some definitions, fixed line breaks and some other pagination and readability issues, and changed phrasing to remove "we".
I have attached the new document and uploaded it to the file server at: https://wmtprojectsforum.altervista.org ... ss_1.2.odt
When approved by you and Penri I will send this to my supervisor.

Hamish,
On my machine there are still some additional line throws, eg:
On my machine there are still some additional line throws, eg:
- The top of the second page.
- Page 5.
- Also the Contents page spills over onto the Introduction page.
