Prototype Tiny-TV

Post by TerryJC »

A prototype Tiny-TV has been assembled and tested using the sample code provided by the manufacturer.

This code will be used as the basis for the working model.

The attached video shows the device in action. Drum roll....

I made some progress today. I have now re-written the example code to allow me to pass successive images to a show_image() function. I have also worked out how to clear the screen.

I've been trying to load one of the images that i scavenged from the net yesterday (Andy_Pandy.bmp). After a fairly steep learning curve, I can now load it, but it is washed out with random lines on it; I suspect that this is due to the number of grey levels. Tomorrow, I'll look into this further.

The good news is that all this should be very achievable.

I have successfully displayed an Andy Pandy image on the Tiny-TV screen and cleared the screen afterwards. See attached.

BTW. The image is washed out on my phones camera, but it actually looks fine.

I did indeed, in fetching Bakealite brown for the chassis and the bezel in brown and cream, I think it looks good.

I did make a wooden versions to try out ideas but any slight carpentry mistakes were amplified by the small scale, or perhaps I was just ham fisted, so printing seems the way to go.

There are three chassis types, I'll post images in due course to let you see them.
