OK. I'll order a Pi 4 with 2 GB of RAM and a heat sink kit.

That should be good for quite a long time.

Having some difficulty. The Pi 4 2 GB board is out of stock everywhere or very expensive. The 4 GB version is available at £54 from the Pi Hut.

Should I go for that?

Damn! This is getting silly. The Pi 4 needs a different PSU Brick to the Pi 3. About another £7-8.

Done. I got everything from one supplier, so only one lot of P&P (£2.99).

Penri,

I forgot to ask. What are the fixing / housing arrangements for the existing Pi? I haven't bought a case for the Pi 4 and had assumed that it might be accommodated as per the existing installation. However, if part of that strategy relies on the Pi being inside a case, then I'll have to buy one (typically these cost £3 and upwards).

The Pi 4 is a different size to the Pi 1.

Terry

Without looking I honestly don’t know for sure.

If the Pi used was the old one I donated then it was in a plastic case when it left me.

I’m at WMT for a short time this morning so will take a look and report back.

Is it just sitting on the shelf?
