Construction of the Control Electronics

Post by TerryJC »

In due course I will use this Topic to post progress on the build and test of the Control Electronics. Before I can complete the work, I will need to test the electronics with the layout. When will a usable version of the layout be available?

I have prototyped the LED Control portion of the Control Electronics using breadboard and a 500 Ohm potentiometer. This appears to give a good range of LED brightness.

Hi the track has been wired with the breaks and diodes. The push button and the power supply will be finished Tomorrow 16/01/20. all that remains to be done is fitting the IR sensor and the LED lights, which I will make when I get the LEDs. The Potentiometer seems to be a good way of controlling the brightness.

Thanks. I'll start the build in the next day or two.

Any new comments on the latest circuit?

OK. This morning Geoff wired the board into the system, but unfortunately it didn't work! Quick local diagnostics revealed no problems, so I brought the board home again and quickly discovered that I had forgotten to auto-run the program Doh!

I will bring it back on Monday.

At least the basic wiring is done now.
