There has been an ongoing issue with the main loop of the system (Sump to Wendy Butts and return) for some weeks now. Various other activities and / or the weather got in the way of pursuing it. About two weeks ago it was established that the Wendy Gate Valve (G4) was not communicating via the network but, again, time and weather precluded further investigation.
This morning Penri removed the valve and I have just tested it. I haven't fully diagnosed the fault yet, but it looks like the 12 V to 5 V converter module has failed. When power is applied, no current flows and the resistance between the + and - I/P terminals is in the order of megohms. The pi boots normally when powered from a standard brick.
It will take me a day or two to replace the converter, but the valve should then work.
