Requirements

When the WMT re-opened after the lockdown, the old portable CD Player that had been used to play the sound effects in the Railway Room was found to have failed. A temporary solution is in place currently.

This project is to produce a replacement for the temporary solution that can be integrated into the rest of the railway system.

The Railway Room Sound Effects Player shall:
  1. Play copies of the existing sound effects on the CD, converted to mp3 format.
  2. Be started by turning on the power at the mains socket.
  3. Allow for the selection of new tracks or skip tracks, etc.
  4. Be shut down by removing the power at the mains socket.
  5. Allow new tracks to be added easily.
