Re: Current status of new river system software features (15 March 2022 Onwards)
The new GUI could completely replace the engineer GUI if it includes the existing features of the engineer GUI for viewing status. I think this would be a good idea because Flask is more popular and maintainable than PHP, which is what the engineer GUI is written in. Would you be happy to make this...

Re: Software Design Documentation To-Do (March 2022 onwards)
Would you like to take on some of the work, for example updating the existing flow charts for the control logic? That's one of the tasks here that doesn't have to wait. Hamish, Just to ensure we are talking about the same thing; are you referring to the flowcharts that appeared in Annexes C and D o...

Re: Overall Phased Requirements
Some requirements that are completed are shown here as In Progress. Additionally, some more general requirements are shown as In Progress when all sub-requirements are listed as completed - I think this needs another update. I'll provide proper comments next week. I hadn't noticed that! In fact, if...

Re: Current status of new river system software features (15 March 2022 Onwards)
The database changes may not be necessary with the advent of the CLI to set readings and take temporary control of the devices in the system. Thoughts? If this is no longer needed, that's a fair bit of extra work removed. My opinion is that the CLI should be enough - we shouldn't need to interact w...

Re: Overall Phased Requirements
----- START OF MERGED POSTS ----- I've just added some minor updates to the Phased Requirements Spec to show progress since the document was created back in 2018. The updated version is now in the rivercontrolsystem-docs repositoryy at https://gitlab.com/wmtprojectsteam/rivercontrolsystem-docs/-/tre...

Re: Installation Specification
Owing to an oversight we have ended up with two places where we've discussed this document; here and at https://wmtprojectsforum.altervista.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=242 . Since this was the earlier Topic entry, I believe any further discussion should remain here. I have added some corrections and s...

Re: WMT Building Database
Hamish,
Can I suggest a small name change? 'WMT Building Database' can be interpreted as a topic on how to build the NAS Database, whereas 'WMT Buildings Database' is more descriptive of what it is.

Re: Requirements for Proposed Replacement NAS Box
Another option for building a NAS is a PC Engines APU, which is an x86 single board computer. (These are distributed in the UK by LinITX.) Interesting. I'd never heard of these before. I can see the benefits in that they are designed to be servers and do that very well, and don't really do anything...
